Chrysalis (2018)

Role: Composer, Audio Lead

Project Description:

"Chrysalis" is a VR adventure / exploration game created for the Oculus Rift. In the experience, the player begins as a fisherman lost at sea, but is soon swallowed by a mysterious creature that rises out of the ocean. In the belly of the beast, the player meets and befriends a stir-crazy angler fish. The two must join forces and navigate the creature's innards in order to escape. By solving puzzles and exploring the environment, they uncover an underlying narrative. "Sunken" into a dire situation, it will take them more than a great escape to survive!

"Chrysalis" was Runner-Up in the 2018 Unity Awards for "Best Student Project", and was a 2017 Oculus Launch Pad Scholarship Recipient. It is available for free on the Oculus Store now!

If this experience sounds interesting to you, there is A LOT more where that came from! "Chrysalis" is the product of a small team with a big imagination, and at the root of it all is the inspiring Brenda Chen, who created the idea and served as the game's director. I always look forward to my next opportunity to collaborate with her!
